Britt Small completed her MFA in Directing at the University of Victoria with a production of Sophocles’ Electra. Nationally and internationally, she has directed Janet Munsil’s, Circus Fire and The Ugly Duchess, Jacob Richmond’s The Qualities of Zero, Ride the Cyclone and Legoland, numerous new Fringe Festival plays and Firebugs at the William Head prison. Recently she was nominated for a Jessie award for her direction of Aaron Bushkowski’s new play My Chernobyl, co-produced in Vancouver and Victoria. She is directing The Fantasticks for the inaugural season of Blue Bridge Theatre in Victoria. Britt also plays in a band, performs in the AV cabarets and teaches workshops in storytelling for actors at UVIC.
Jacob studied acting and playwriting at Concordia University in Montreal and at UVIC. His plays include: The Qualities of Zero, Small Returns, Ride the Cyclone and Legoland. Legoland has picked up numerous awards across Canada. He has also received the Montreal English Critic’s Circle Award and was nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore Award. He has written pieces for CBC Radio as well as for film and television. Jacob performed in My Chernobyl and was nominated for a Jessie Award for his sound design. He is currently performing in Blue Bridge Theatre’s Death of a Salesman and The Fantasticks.
